Day at Spark
A typical day includes whole-child learning where children are exposed to both free and structured play to cultivate each child’s interest, allow them to dig deeper into existing passions, explore new subjects and build on previous experiences.

Work Time/Choice Time Teachers trust that children can learn to make choices and initiate explorations, and that beneath each choice of material or activity is a child's personal interest and motive. Teachers act as facilitators and provide the parameters to ensure that children feel confident and secure to actively explore the materials; Teachers engage our learners in conversation and play, provide the guidance to express and navigate themselves and provide developmentally appropriate feedback about their experience and learning.
During work time, our learners share resources and space with their peers as well as with younger and older children. They learn to adjust to one another and learn from one another progressively and independently. They engage in solitary, parallel or interactive play and all with an awareness of others. Various areas are prepared for the children, such as the Pretend and Dramatic Play Area, Art Area, Blocks and Manipulatives Area, Water and Sand Tables, Science Area and Reading Corner. Experiences and opportunities for constructive and creative activities are provided, with focus as well on the development of their language and social skills. |
Circle TimeCircle time with Teacher provides our children with the opportunity to participate in a group, express themselves and listen to one another, share and take turns.
Together they sing songs, chant rhymes, and listen to stories being read aloud. Routines include marking the calendar, checking the weather, checking the attendance and looking at the morning message. Opportunities for "Show and Tell" and group discussions also happen during Circle. |
